This ring is a beauty! The focal point is a large Asscher cut 10 X 10mm (5 carat) stone, which is set into a vintage style beaded bezel setting.  That gorgeous center is then surrounded by a halo border of round stones, all inside of an 8-sided octagon setting.  The total design measures 1/2″ wide & tall on the finger and it sits nice and flat on the finger. Thin thin band is also set with 6 tiny round stones going half way down the sides. What is an Asscher cut stone?  Many don't know, which is strange considering this cut dates as far back as 1857, when the father & son team of  the Royal Asscher Diamond Company patented the Asscher cut, making it the first signature patented cut ever in the world. This unique cut is a square, set with large step-cut facets. If you’ve ever seen an Emerald cut, then you’ve seen something very similar to this, although the Emerald cut is a lower quality derivative of the Asscher cut.

The setting is nickel-free sterling silver sealed in rhodium-platinum so it will resist tarnishing when cared for properly.
