Then, once everyone has "seen it", most of us never want to wear these costly items again and end up wanting to buy something new for each big event. That is where BorrowedBling.com comes to the rescue, by offering a unique and ingenious solution to this dilemma.

We stock the finest in evening accessories, including: jewels, belts, crystal evening bags and a wide array of accessories. Yet, on our site you have two choices for how to get these gorgeous items into your possession. You can sign up as a BUYER ONLY and then you are free to just “click and buy” any items that you like for the wholesale purchase price shown. There are no monthly membership fees associated with being signed up with us as a BUYER. Or, if you prefer an endless variety of merchandise, then signing up as a BORROWING MEMBER is probably better suited for you. As a borrowing member, in addition to being able to purchase items you can also BORROW our items for a small, flat monthly membership fee. Items can be checked out and then returned, as needed. As a borrowing member you do not ever have to pay the purchase price for any item you like. Your small monthly membership dues enable you to check out 2 or 3 items at a time (depending on your membership level) for only the small cost of your monthly fee. Now you can have a brand new, and never seen before, item to wear at each special event without having to make any permanent or costly investments, and you will never again have to worry about getting tired of always having to wear the "same old thing" or finding room to store dozens of items you’ll probably never even wear again. Although our prices may have to increase slightly, from time to time, as silver or gold costs fluctuate, or UPS raises their shipping fees, etc. - please be assured that we offer a "locked-in pricing guarantee" for a full year for all new members. Therefore, it is best to sign up for a renting membership as soon as possible to lock in the current rate for an entire year, before any pricing changes occur, which can happen at any time, due to the changing markets described above. This way you can be sure that the closet level you choose, (whether it be $29.95, $49.95 or $99.95 per month), will not increase for at least a full year at least, if you end up remaining a member of our site for that long, as most do. And, as always, a BUYER ONLY membership is always completely free.

В What are the various membership levels/packages?

We have 3 paid membership levels to choose from and 1 free level:

  • If you're a Countess Member, you have access to everything in the Countess Closet for $29.95 a month. This allows you to borrow up to 2 items at a time, up to as many as you want each month.
  • If you're a Duchess Member, you have access to everything in the Duchess Closet & the Countess Closet for $49.95 a month. This allows you to borrow up to 2 items at a time, up to as many as you want each month.
  • If you're a Movie Star Member, you have access to everything, in all three of our closets for $99.95 a month. This also allows you to borrow up to 3 items at a time, up to as many as you want each month. (As a Movie Star member you also have access to our "Awards Night" premium items - you will be charged an additional monthly fee per premium item, while it is out on rent to you. The fee is shown to you on the check out page before your order is processed.)
  • If you sign up as a Buyer Only member then you are allowed to purchase any item you see on the website for the shown wholesale amount. This level is free and has no monthly fees or obligations associated with it. However, the borrowing privileges are not offered to “Buyer Only” members.

Please note that you can upgrade or downgrade your membership closet level at any time by logging into your “MY ACCOUNT" page. However you can only downgrade your level after all previously borrowed items are returned and logged in with us. Please note that there is no partial month credit if you downgrade to a lower level before your next billing cycle.

В What are your shipping policies?

All items are shipped to you via UPS or Post Office and most items arrive within 2 - 5 days. They will always arrive with a UPS return label already included for you. There is a $9.99 round trip ticket charge assessed to your account each time your borrowed item(s) go out to you. If you borrow more than one item at a time and they can go out in the same package then you will only be charged ONE $9.99 round trip shipping fee for all of the items. When you're ready to return the item(s) you had out on loan, simply put them back in the box they came in, or in the padded envelope we include for you (for our smaller items) and drop them off at any UPS location or center near you. The return labels provided for you already have tracking and insurance paid for on them, and since your account will already have been charged the $9.99 round trip shipping fee when the items were sent out to you, there will be no additional charge when you return the item(s) back to us. As soon as you see on your "Membership" page that these items have reached us and have been logged in, in proper condition, you are immediately free to borrow new items. Please make sure that any velvet or leather boxes/pouches that your jewelry or purses arrived with are also returned to us with your items because there is a $4.95 charge for each missing jewelry box or purse pouch that does not come back to us.

Please note that once you sign up with us there will be no credits or refunds given on your monthly membership fee. Until the time that you notify us via email, 14 days in advance, that you wish to cancel your membership, we will continue to view you as an active member and extend all borrowing privileges to you that accompany your membership level, and therefore we will automatically bill you for your membership fees on the same day each month. We do reserve the right to put your account on temporary suspension if items are not returned to us, or if they arrive back with serious damage. There are also no partial month credits or charges, so if you upgrade your membership level in the middle of a billing cycle you will be charged the full additional amount that this higher level incurs, even if there are only a few days left in that billing cycle. If you downgrade your membership level in the middle of a billing cycle you will not be given partial credit and you will need to wait until your next fee is due before you will see a lower amount billed to you. For these reasons we recommend that you try to wait until the day before your next payment is due before you upgrade or downgrade your membership level, but the ultimate choice of when to do this is up to you. You can change your membership level and view when your next payment is due by logging into your "ACCOUNT" page.

В Tell me about your stones and jewelry so that I know what I am getting

Gem-quality diamonds are now being grown in laboratories. Forget cubic zirconia, which are made to only “pass” as diamonds. Lab-grown, man-made stones are as amazingly brilliant as the real deal. The only significant difference is that instead of the stones being millions to billions of years old and being so difficult to mine out of the Earth, lab grown diamonds can be grown in a matter of days or weeks by recreating conditions of intense heat and pressure, similar to the conditions deep in the Earth billions of years ago when all naturally grown diamonds were originally formed. Even the Gemological Institute of America ( known to most as GIA), the foremost diamond research and grading agency, acknowledges that man-made, lab grown diamonds are not “fake” stones. They are just grown in a different way and in a much faster time frame - making them more readily available and thus far less costly.

The man-made diamonds and top quality crystals that we use sparkle and have the same amazing fire and brilliance that genuine jewels have. This effect can only be achieved by the specific manufacturing process where chemical components almost identical to those which are found in genuine diamonds are compressed under tremendous heat (approximately 5000 degrees Fahrenheit - even steel melts at only 3000 degrees) and intense pressure, and the result is a stone that has basically the same reflective index, dispersion of light and hardness as close to a diamond as possible. Therefore they are strong enough and hard enough to be cut with the same intricate facets as naturally occurring stones. Facets are what make diamonds sparkle and reflect light. So this intricate cutting process makes the depth of the stone have that same crisp, clean appearance that naturally occurring diamonds have, where the light dances with fire as it bounces off the stones. These man-made stones are then set into our sterling or gold settings. As you browse our site you’ll notice that our designs look like pieces you’d expect to see in the most impressive jewelry stores in the world. And as you can see here, they look amazing enough to wear side by side with your own diamonds and no one would be able to tell which stones came from us and which came from diamond mines. In fact, our stones look so real that celebrities and television studios have sought us out for years, as the company to use when they want an array of gorgeous jewels to wear on TV, which look amazing even under the brightest lights and tightest camera angles. В What happens if I have an item on loan to me that I love so much that I want to keep it and purchase it?

If you ever find that an item which you have borrowed is something you just can’t live without keeping forever simply send us an email letting us know that you will not be returning the item back to us because you prefer to purchase it for ownership. We will then charge your credit card for the shown wholesale purchase price for the item(s) and remove them from your list of borrowed items so that you are then free to borrow another item again. Another option is that you can log back into the site and go to your My Account page and click into the BORROWING HISTORY link. There you will see a list of your "Current Borrowed Items" and on the far right side of each item is a link to BUY these items when you are ready.

В What happens if I want to upgrade my membership fee in the middle of my billing cycle?

You are welcome to upgrade your membership level at any time. Just go into your MY ACCOUNT page where it will offer you to change your membership level – you can click to have your membership level upgraded that same day. As soon as you do that we will charge you the remaining balance of your upgraded level fees and your new billing cycle will start as of this new day. For example if you are a Countess level member with a billing cycle that charges you on the 10th of each month and you upgrade your membership level to the Movie Star level on the 18th of the month then you will automatically be charged $70 (the difference between the Movie Star $99.95 membership fee and the $29.95 you already paid as a Countess member). Now your billing date will be the 18th of each month and no longer will be the 10th of each month. So, on the 18th of the next month you will be charged the new $99.95 rate, now that you have raised your membership level to the highest level.

В How can I downgrade my membership level?

Log into you're MY ACCOUNT page and you will see a place to change your membership level. You can choose to downgrade to a lower level at any point in time and enter this into our site, but keep in mind that the site will not be able to officially reflect your membership downgrade until all of your currently borrowed items are returned safely to us and checked back in. Once that is done then we will begin to bill you at the lower membership rate on the date of your next billing cycle. We do not offer any partial month credits, so no matter when you downgrade your membership you will not see the lower fee being billed to you until your next billing cycle is ready to begin.

В What should I do if an item arrives damaged?

Send us an email or place a call to us right away. You must notify us within 24 hours of delivery in order for us to cover the $9.99 fees to get a replacement item out to you once the damaged item has been returned to us. If we have the exact same item in stock we will be happy to send it out as a replacement. Otherwise you will be welcome to borrow or select another item in its place. Keep in mind that every item is carefully inspected before they get shipped out to you and we do not expect any item to arrive to you in a damaged condition.

 How can I be sure that my borrowed items will make it safely back to you and who is responsible if they don’t?

We send all items to you with a pre-paid UPS label that is trackable and insured against loss or damage (as long as you pack it the same way we sent it to you). If you opted for the $9.99 round trip shipping option at the time of check-out then you can take the package to any UPS location and give it to a clerk or drop it in a UPS pick up box or counter. As soon as that tracking number gets scanned into the UPS computer system you are no longer responsible for it if it gets lost. However you must be able to prove that the item did get checked into the UPS system (if it does somehow get lost and not show up) so we strongly recommend that you visually see the UPS personnel scan the bar code into their machine while you are present. If you prefer to have the UPS driver come to your home or business to pick up the return package in person then the $9.99 round-trip shipping fee goes up to $14.99 because UPS charges an additional fee for this door-to-door service. You can select this shipping option at the time of check out in the drop down shipping selector. Again, please get visual verification that the tracking number has been scanned by the driver in front of you.

If UPS has no record that your package got dropped off or picked up then you will be responsible to pay for the lost contents of the package.

В How does the billing system work? How will I know what I am to be charged and when?

You will see a charge on your credit card statement on (or around) the same day each month (usually the day you first signed up with us) under the name Borrowed Bling. The charge will be $29.95 if you are a Countess member, $49.95 if you are a Duchess member and $99.95 if you are a Movie Star member. You will also see $9.99 fees coming through whenever you check out new items with us, which covers the round trip shipping costs for each new package to go out to you and to come back to us. To know when your monthly payment will be automatically charged to your credit card simply log into you’re MY ACCOUNT page and you will see the date that your next payment will be due to us.

В Are there any additional fees that I may sometimes occur under special circumstances?

If you choose to borrow a “Premium Item” (only for Movie Star members), which are the most costly items on our site, then you will also see an additional $99 - $149 (depending on the item) each month that you keep it in your possession. These extra fees are usually only associated with our crystal covered purses and some Kippy brand belts. From time to time you may also incur $4.99 charges for lost jewelry boxes or pouches, if you do not send them back to us with your items.

We will always take your requests under serious consideration and will work hard to accommodate them whenever possible. Feel free to email or call us with any desires for new product, or to request changes to current product. There is also a place for you to type in COMMENTS at the bottom of each order if you want a specific length chain or to ask a question about the product you are borrowing or buying.

В When and how am I allowed to cancel my membership?

You can cancel your membership at any time, after your “Initial Term” 3-month minimum requirement is met. After you have been a member for 3 months you can quickly log onto the site and click on you’re MY ACCOUNT link which will offer you the option to click on “Cancel Membership”. You are also welcome to send us an email with your name and membership information letting us know you wish to cancel. This notice must come at least 14 days prior to your next billing date or we cannot guarantee that we will be able to process your request before the next payment is due and you will incur membership fees until the following month. Cancellations cannot come in by phone and must be done through the website or submitted in writing via email with 14 days prior notice. You will always get an email confirmation of your request. If you do not get this within 24 hours of submitting your request to cancel your membership please do not consider your request received and make sure to follow up with us via email or phone. Our confirmation email back to you is your proof of your cancellation date. Also it is important to note that you cancellation request cannot be processed until all past-due amounts have been paid and all previously borrowed merchandise has been sent back to us and checked in.

В How long am I allowed to keep the same item out on loan?

You can keep items as little as a few days, or for as long as you like. There is no price increase or late fee, as long as your monthly membership fees can be successfully charged through on your credit card when they are due each month. You may want to keep in mind however that the faster you get your items back to us, the quicker you can begin to borrow more.

В I see an item I really want to borrow but it is currently out of stock. What should I do?

You can keep track of items you want to remember to borrow at a later date by adding them to your WISH LIST, which is available as a link on the item’s detail page. Then, as soon as you see that this item is back in stock you can easily click into it on your wish list page and borrow or buy it. You can also email or call us about any item you wish to purchase or borrow, to let us know that you are eagerly awaiting it to come back into stock and we will make a note to contact you as soon as it comes back in, or sometimes we may even be able to get another one in especially for you.

В What happens if I break or damage an item, or if an item gets lost?

Routine “wear and tear” is not considered damage. Something as simple as a stone coming out, or a link breaking is not something we will hold you responsible for or bill you for. Something is only considered damaged when it is broken beyond repair or when it is broken to the point where it is quite costly for us to repair it. This can happen when a crystal purse is dropped onto a hard surface and chucks of stones come off, or a lock gets broken off. It can also happen when a piece of jewelry gets stepped on or bent into strange configurations and entire pieces come apart. In these cases we will bill you for the actual cost of repairs at our own discretion, which can be as low as $20.00 or as high as the cost of the purchase price for the item. We do not make any profit on these repair fees and only charge you our actual costs to fix what was broken. If you treat our items with routine care, and package them the same way that they were sent to you, then you should never expect to be charged for any damages. If an item gets lost somehow while in your possession, or never makes it back to us and you cannot show evidence that it was checked in with UPS then you will be held responsible to cover the cost of the loss of the item(s) and you will be charged for the entire purchase price of the item shown on the website. Also, in some instances of unresolved damage or loss, your account can be put on suspension at our own discretion.

В What do I need to do to send an item back to you?

All jewelry items will come to you in a velvet or leather box or pouch, which then get put into a padded shipping envelope. You can throw away this outer envelope because there will be a second, new one, inside with a pre-paid UPS label already on it. Make sure that you keep this return envelope in a safe place because there is a $5.00 fee to re-issue a second envelope and pre-paid return mailing label. Also make sure that you return the jewelry items in their original velvet or leather boxes / pouches because there is a $4.99 charge for any of these that are not returned to us. Most purses come to you in a small shipping box. It is recommended that you keep the original box so that when you are ready to get the item back to us you can just use the return label found inside and return the purse to us back in the same box it came in. There is no additional charge to get these items back to us since your original $9.99 or $14.99 shipping charge covers the roundtrip shipping fees to get the items back to us.

В What if I want to get some of the items seen on your website but I do not want to become a member and incur monthly membership fees?

You only have to be a paying member of the site to BORROW items. You do not have to be a paying member to purchase them. When the site asks you to sign up there will be a drop down menu at the bottom of the page that allows you to select a BUYER ONLY option, which allows you to purchase any item you see for the listed wholesale price, and will not result in any reoccurring monthly membership fees or future obligation.

Please contact us via phone or email to discuss other options. In some instances it is possible to send a check to us in advance, or use PayPal, or to have your checking account debited. Certain conditions will apply. Call us to discuss these options.

Simply log into you’re MY ACCOUNT page and you will see a link to Order History (to see past purchases) or Borrowing History (to see past borrowed items).

В How will I know that my returned items made it back safely to you and when I am able to go back in and check out new items?

You will usually receive an email telling you when your items have reached us successfully, but you can also log into you’re MY ACCOUNT page and click on the BORROWING HISTORY link. Then look at the bottom half of that page where it says PAST BORROWING HISTORY and there you will see a column that says STATUS. This is where you can see when items have gotten checked back in with us and you will know that you are ready to check out your new items.

В Why am I sometimes charged one $9.99 round trip shipping fee when I borrow items and other times I am charged this fee twice in one week?

Whenever you borrow your 2 or 3 allowed items at one time and they can all be sent out in one package then you will only incur one shipping fee. However, if you check out items on different days they can sometimes get sent out in two different shipments and therefore they will incur two separate shipping fees. To save money it is usually wisest to pick all of your items for borrowing at once each time you are ready to borrow new items.

 What if I don’t want to make a trip to my local UPS counter when I wish to send items back to you? Is there any way to have them come right to my home or office?

The answer to this question is YES. At the time of check out, each time you borrow items from us, there is a drop down menu for shipping options. If you prefer to have a UPS driver come pick up your package in person then you will need to check the $14.99 fee for shipping instead of the usual $9.99 fee, which will alert us to set it up with UPS in advance so that you’ll be able to call them whenever you are ready to have them come pick your items back up from you. If this is more convenient for you then having to take the items to a UPS location yourself, then feel free to check this $14.99 option on your final check out page.

Although our international fans are always allowed to purchase items from our site (we do ship all over the world) we normally do not extend the borrowing privileges to anyone outside of the U.S. However, if you do live outside of the U.S and wish to set up a borrowing account please call us toll free at (877) 672-7978 to see if there is something that we can work out for you.
